Everyone knows that Zaino is talked about a lot but there is very limited helpful information about the products. This is my first time using Zaino and I figured I’d see what all of the hoopla is about. I received a bottle of Z1 and Z5 from wifehatescar and put them to work on this detail (used most of your products... thanks). This Corolla belongs to my girlfriend and winter had taken its toll on the car. Back in January or February we did PwS with a light cut pad topped with EX-P and was due for a detail. Salt and a bad snow brush left some nice swirls for me to remove with the UDM. There is still a few deep swirls on the hood and trunk lid which we’ll have to live with.

Process:
Wash
Spot clay
SSR2.5 (UDM, polishing pad, speed 6)
SSR1 (UDM, polishing pad, speed 6)
Alcohol wipedown
Z1
Z5 x2

I did the second coat of Z5 the day after and I was planning on adding another but the weather didn’t hold up. I did this detail last week but my time and weather held off this post until today when I finally got some decent pictures. Hope you enjoy.

Looks good.
Glad you put my stuff to use. :P

How did the udm work out for you, compared to what the PC would do on those swirls?

Thanks 8) They both worked fine... both left some of the deeper swirling with the 2.5. I'm still not sure about the UDM being more effective than the PC. Yes it has more power but if it doesn't correct any better ... what's the point? I taped off the hood on this vehicle and did a side by side test with the SSR2.5 with a 6.5" CCS pad... the UDM side seemed to have more hazing vs. the PC ... which doesn't make sense because I've never gotten hazing like this before. Maybe the product broke down faster which led to the hazing?

So if you use the PC and are happy with it, the UDM may not be for you. If the PC craps out or you don't have a buffer the added power of the UDM is nice.
