Well, as I wrote in my other post I'd post some pics of the Grand Wagoneer. I didn't get any before pictures but I did snap a shot of an area that I couldn't polish, seal, or wax just to show the difference in the paint. This was strictly an exterior detail as I'm planning on replacing the floor pans, engine and transmission in August.
As for the products used here's a list:
Danase Car Wash w/ Foam Gun
Danase Medium Clay (this vehicle ate up half my 200gram clay bar with all the junk in the paint)
Optimum Compounnd
Optimum Polish
Poorboys Pro Polish for hand-polished areas
Klasse AIO
Klasse SG
Poorboys Natty's Blue
Sonus Tire and Bumper Dressing Gel
Einsett Glas Polish (worked like a champ to remove roadpaint from tailgate and rear fixed windows)
Griot's Chrome Polish (not real happy with performance)

Nice job despite some issues! And, yes, I agree not to touch the interior after I saw the last shot.

The truck appears to be very solid considering how badly those tended to rust.

Are you fabbing the floor pieces or have you found reproduction parts? Good luck: always fun to see someone restore a classic.

That's actually never seen a salted Buffalo road. The previous two winter Waggies you could Flintstone it, however.

Thankfully I've got a source for the floor pans so replacing the major areas shouldn't be too much of a headache. I'm sure when I pull the carpet and the rest of the interior there will be other sections that I don't have replacements for but I'm anticipating that.

Any recommendations for pot metal chromers by the way?

It's been so long since I've had any chrome work done...

Every time I see a Grand Wagoneer, I think of Wagonmaster in Texas. They specialize in ONLY Grand Wagoneers. I've not bought anything from them, but you might look at their site. I know they like to rebuild and restore these.

This one has got the whole sentimentality thing going for it. If I'm not mistaken I believe this is the only vehicle my father has ever bought new, every other Grand Wagoneer that's come into his possession has always been used. He knows that it's in need of a good bit of work and he's getting to the point where he doesn't enjoy driving it as much as he used to as a result of its problems. Actually, the driveability issues are why I'm replacing the drivetrain with another 360 and 727 for him that came out the 1985 Grand Wagoneer I bought when I was 16 which has since been scrapped because of the body and frame rot.

Thanks for the suggestion on Wagonmaster but I think the old lady would rip him a new one if he brought home another Grand Wagoneer

Oh yes, I forgot, they don't sell parts. I just went to their site and recalled dialing their number about 8 years ago when I was repairing one for a family member. Fun site to visit
