View Full Version : What music do you listen to?
I got the idea from another thread on another site. :p
Ok, most of you will probably say WTF is wrong with this guy or think I am 50 years old at least. ;)
I listen to mostly oldies. I love doo wop and the Motown sound. I do listen to a lot of other things though. My favorite group is The Eagles and I am a big Don Henley fan. If you ask who my favorite singer is I could not tell you. I really like the voice of Sam Cooke so he would be up there at the top. Some of my other favorites are Chuck Berry, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Ricky Nelson, Wilson Pickett, Otis Redding, and tons more from those eras.
What do you all listen to?

Damn, Bob... how old are you? 50??? Just kidding.
I listen to mostly indy stuff. I like the American Analog Set, Doves, Interpol, Mogwai, Mojave 3/Slowdive, Ride, Snow Patrol, The Straford 4, Death Cab for Cutie, Tahiti 80, etc... I could go on, but most people never know who I'm talking about.
I still listen to Morrissey/The Smiths too. That stuff is just timeless to me.
I'm really surprised Bob owns an import.. with a playlist like that he should be driving a deuce coupe and wearing a leather jacket all the time.
I listen to everything.. except for stuff like Bob listens to :D My ipod is in constant shuffle mode and can go from Pantera to Depeche Mode to Tim Mcgraw to Dashboard Confessional. I listen to any music that catches my ear regardless of the genre.
Mogwai: I listen to a few of the ones on your list and have heard of the others but haven't gotten around to listening to them :)

I have a pretty diverse range of music. My favorites currently are Tori Amos, Garbage (yes I lust after Shirley Manson), Maroon5, Nirvana (Im trying ot get into the Washington mentality :) ). We are going to head over to Detroit on the 14th for a Tori Amos concert and we are going to try and catch Garbage in Seattle.
I do hate country though, it drives me friggin nuts when I have to listen to it.

Cool. Except for the more mainstream ones like Interpol, Death Cab, Snow Patrol, Radiohead, etc... it's rare to find someone who knows who I'm talking about.

I'm with you 100% on the tunes Bob.
I can remember growing up and the parents saying "how can you even understand that" groups like AC/DC....
I listen to some of these groups today and I'm thinking "how can they even understand that"

I've been having back problems this year and I went to get Cortizone shots in my back/spine (fun). For some reason that theme song popped into my head............. We can rebuild him, we have the technology!
