View Full Version : Danase Waffle Weaving Drying
This is a link to the towel in the Danase store:
http://www.danase.com/dawawedrto.html
The towel is much brighter blue than the picture in the store.
It is also so much softer than I expected: a pleasant surprise.
Since it felt so soft out of the package, I didn't wash it before first use.
It dried extremely well. I was able to lay it wide open across hood, roof, and trunk, allowing it to absorb the water, then I pulled it along the finish ever so gently. It was so much softer than the ones I've become accustomed to using that I didn't remember to spray any QD for a safety lubricant as I dried. Was that a mistake? No!
This towel nearly dried a full size car by itself. I used an artificial chamois for windows and wheels: Danase did the rest with a couple touch-ups from my old WW's.
Have I mentioned it was soft? This WW made my yellow Meguiar's WW feel like cardboard. I feel much safer using the Danase WW on my finest paint finishes.
The price was far less than other waffle weave drying towels of comparable size (Currently $11.95 in the store). It easily outperformed the ones I've been using...it really is my best WW drying towel.
Two would dry a full size SUV or full size car with room to spare.
As a side note, after the towel dried, it was still soft and felt safe to use on the next car.
Pete,
The towel in the picture is a new towel. We no longer carry the blue one. We are looking at a few other drying towels though.

Different size, different quality, more/less expensive, or just expanding your product offerings?

I stopped using the place where I got those blue towels from so we are looking for something else is all. I have two to test out so hopefully this weekend, or even tonight, I can wash my truck and try it out.

Ah okay, sticking with a W/W design though I assume?
If anything I will always carry a WW. The two I have to test out are not waffle weaves though. I actually had some custom made to a size for me to tryout. We shall see how they do. LOL
So, this means I not only have a good towel, it means that I have one of the last available!
Collector's Item
Ebay...starting bid $59.95 with appreciation in value expected in the next few years

It sounds like you only used the towel for blotting. Did you come behind to do a final wipe since blotting always leaves a little moisture behind?
Let me clarify:
First, I laid the towel down and let it absorb for a few seconds.
Next, I gently drew it along the finish as I picked it up. This served as my final wipe in all but a few spots. Those few spots occurred once the WW became saturated enough to leave some streaks. Those were then wiped by another WW towel.
Ok folks. I got to test one of the new custom made towels last night on my truck. It is basically a HUGE Phat Towel. I loved it! It was a little too big so I am going to look and see about a smaller size than this beach towel I have. I will probably sell the big towel too though. :)

Cool, now I don't have to use those harsh towels after I shower, just grab my Huge Phat Towel.
Maybe I can buy a few of them and have a robe made from them, I'd be pimping big time.

Were you able to dry your truck with just that one? Sounds like a good towel. How was it compared to a ww drying towel?

This might just be me but I would rather use 2 smaller towels than one huge one. The huge ones are harder to control, more of a risk it will touch the floor or a dirty tire when trying to refold it. Even folded in 4's the 26"x48" would be 13"x24"... that's huge. The 16"x24" would be 8"x12". Just thinking out loud.
Does it absorb well? Better, same, or worse than your WW?

+1 for the 24"

The smaller or the bigger one it doesn't really matter to me. But I always use two towels during drying. So I guess the 24" will work well.
I agree with you guys on the big towels. I used it a few times this weekend and it dried excellent! Thye onyl downside is you have to really pay attention not to let it touch the ground and it is hard on lower cars. LOL
