What a beast. I actually saw this car last year about this time. It was serving as some sort of wood bench for a construction project. All I could tell was that it was very oxidized and needed some love. The son who owns it has been out of the country for the last couple years, but he returns in a few weeks, so I guess they decided to spruce it up for him. Enter OCDetails. :) Their neighbor across the street has been a terrific source of referals for me and a really good friend. So when the topic came up, I was refered to the good Doctor and his wife.

I used Four Star 4-40 One Step and topped it with Four Star Ultimate Paint Protection. The work was done with the Edge 2000 orange pad on the UDM. I really don't think the extra power of the UDM helped at all though. I switched to the PC halfway through because the UDM sprayed 4-40 all over me when it accidently switched on while loading the pad. I could have thrown it in the garbage right there. That switch has to be fixed... Anyway, the results can be atributed to the product and the pad used. The whole job with engine, interior, and exterior took four hours from start to finish and I charged $160. I think it looks much better now. :)

Nice job there! How many orange pads did you used?

Just the one. It didn't even turn it red, which was surprising. This is the second seriously oxidized vehicle that didn't affect my pads. I was expecting it to destroy it, but it worked out well that it didn't. lol

Trick photography, he took a photo of a pink car then a red one.

Just teasing! Great job. What a make over. Bummer about the power switch, I was almost ready to sell my PC and get one. I'm happy I didn't.

Nice turn around. How was the interior?

And about the UDM if you haven't seen this thread...

Ah yes... I'm waiting for mine to arrive in the mail. I'm Jngrbrdman over there on Autopia and was one of the first to really illustrate the issue with the switch. I think the solution should be a little more quickly manufactured than it is, but that is just me. It's a fine machine once they fix the switch issues and put a longer cord on the sucker. lol

The funny thing is that I was going to post this over on Autopia as a "Behold the power of the UDM" type thread. As I was thinking about doing it, the machine kicked on and sprayed me down with 4-40. lol So much for that plan.

It's not faulty design, the UDM just marks its territory, which happens to be everything in a four foot radius.

Now I just need to get paid for it. lol They had to go to a football game before I was done and I haven't heard from them since. Hmmmmm.... Maybe I should go down and say hello to my good friend next door to them. They may not realize it, but what was done can be easily undone. ;)

I'm picking it up today. :) I tell ya... Usually I don't do things on credit, but they seemed like nice poeple, so I guess it worked out.
