View Full Version : What Products Can we discuss?

In the past I think I've only seen discussion of the products you carry, and I've stuck to that myself since I get most of my information from another site. Since you have changed the forums, they seem to have more of a general detailing feel instead of a "Danase" specific site. So with that in mind, what is your stance on product discussion? I know one of the other major retailer forums has really cracked down lately to only discussing their products, but I think being able to discuss other products is a good thing, and could help you when it comes to deciding what additional products you should carry.
It's always been open discussion, even with the Danase Forums. :)

Ok so I'm still wet behind the ears when it comes to detailing, product, and detailing forums. Why is it that some forums censor certain products? Were they rubbed the wrong way or just don't care for certain products?
Please excuse my ignorance, but wouldn't it make it easier for newbies like me to know about 99% of the major vendors that aren't OTC? I'm odd in that I like to make an informed not necessarily biased decision when I go to spend money on products.

Most forums don't want people talking about products that they don't carry because if it is a product that gets rave reviews then it takes possible business away from them and their comparable products.

Ego trips and bad business if you ask me. There are a few I would LOVE to censor but I won't do that because I want this to be an open discussion forum. :)

Yeah I am over the ######## brand.:) What I thought you didn't ahve any censored. I think limiting the products you can talk about eventually hurts a company. Everyone will eventually find their go to products and why not have it discussed just in case you want to pick up the products if possible.
LOL
Oh, one thing I know I will censor is swearing. But only if it gets bad. I HATE to censor anything but if you have a forum filled with "F" bombs and stuff like that certain search engines won't rank you as high. :)
