I've read some conflicting opinions about those. The best thing you can do is test them on a CD with the same product (wash solution, QD, wax, etc.) that you'll be using on your paint to check for any marring.
I usually find those cheap bulk packs of MF's good for wheels, well, jambs, etc., but I don't try to scrimp on the MF's I use on my paint. Try some of the Danase Phat (http://www.danase.com/phattowel.html) MF's and/or some other quality MF's and you'll see and feel a difference.

I use the Sams club blue towels for windows. I wouldn't let them touch the paint though, they aren't all that soft.
Costco MF's are decent...I bought a package a few years ago and kept them separate from others so I could see how they worked and how long they lasted.
When they were first out of the package, they shed more than others I've used. After shaking them a few times, the lint was gone.
I've only washed the set 3-4 times now. They feel as good as when they were new.
They are not nearly as plush as some of the Danase Phat towels and others I've used.

the yellow costco MFs that come in a pack of 36 appear identical to some MFs I've received from a popular boutique online retailer. These are by far the best MFs I've purchased for the $$. I use them all the time for everything except drying and nasty, dirty stuff.
