Welcome to the site

As far as products, let me ask what you currently use?

Are you not getting the results you want or are you looking for something new or different to try? There are so many different ones for different applications. We all have favorites, but there just isn't one best product or product line.

The rotary is one of my favorite tools. I wouldn't attempt many vehicles without one, though it certainly can be done. My reasons are the amount of correction and the speed with which a rotary works.

I do own a Cyclo and it is one of the finest orbiting/dual action machines on the market. I don't attempt much correction with it since I do that with a rotary.

I've seen detailers do marvelous work with the Cyclo and other DA machines.

Thanks so much.I know using a rotory buffer makes more since.I just need get over my fear of using it.I want to be the best, and i know that you must use the potory to do that.products i use now are carbite as my one step, mez polish, and adams wax,or auto magic wet wax.I thinking of trying poor boys products.I have been on some other boads were it seems a lot of detailers like that brand.because there products can be used in the sun or sade.I just want to steam line my proceess.and stick to one brand for poishing and cutting.

Pooroby's is a great line of detailing products. The SSR line of polishes works best with a PC or Cylco, rather than a rotary. The Natty's waxes are inexpensive and look just as good as the $50-$100 waxes. All PB products are also very easy to use. PwS is a great paint cleaner and sealant with a polishing pad but use it with a light cut pad and it'll be a swirl remover, paint cleaner and sealant, all in one step.

I'd stick with the Menzerna or Optimum polishes if you are planning on using a rotary. They were designed for it and work the best, IMO. Other polishes flash and dry out too fast to work effectively. Optimum doesn't dry out or dust ... which is very nice when using a rotary.

Do as many cars as you can to gain experience and to practice, and then if you still like it and are getting good results, then you can start thinking about running a business. Theres no sense in starting something up (wasting the $$) and find out you don't want to do it anymore or simply aren't getting customers / results. Practice makes perfect.

Personally,
I thik I would go with the Optimum line since they can all be had in gallon sizes and they work great. Very nice line for the professional for sure.

My experience shows that Optimum Polish goes a long way.

I read that their other products are the same in that a little does a lot more than comparable products.

I have $250 worth of Optimum in my basement thanks to Autogeek and so far I like everything I've tried. However, the OP, OC and OHC should only be used with a rotary, in my opinion and experiences. They are quite oily and a PC / UDM can't break it down enough to make it easy to remove. That was my experience with both OHC and OP in their original formulas. I now have the new formula and may try it out again... but I still believe that there are other products that are more user friendly and produce great results with a PC. I have yet to try the interior protectant, tire dressing or their two car washes (ONR and regular soap).

Haven't used any wool with OP, the only Optimum product I've used so far.

Wool in general, however, is something I've used a great deal. My wool use is for compounding/heavy cutting.

I use wool only on the rotary unless I'm polishing aluminum with the Cyclo.
