I really want to see these forum take off for 2008. In order for this to happen I need as much help as I can get from you all. The more you mention Detailing Forums and link back to us on other site the better. http://www.detailingforums.com

Thanks :)

Thanks!

Maybe if you are on other automotive, boat, rv, atv, motorcycle or whatever forums and you have those people still stuck on their 50 year old cans of Turtle Wax you can send them our way to make their detailing easier with better results. :)

Will do!

Do you and Excel Detail put anything in with the orders that mentions DF? I don't remember. I know you send cards. I will be sure to carry those and try to hand some out at car shows too.

Edit... We need another member quick... The member count is still at 666.

Ha ha, I've dropped your name a few times on one of the forums I belong to. I'm tired of hearing the resident "gearhead" trying to get everyone using Liquid Glass.

I'm not sure about Patrick but I just had new business cards made and on the back of them they have mention of my blog and these forums and my card goes into every order of mine.

There are a million of them out there too! LOL

The reason I want mention of the forums is to get the forums to grow. I figure if these forums grow so will the business the site sponsors get. As much as I can help out Danase, by business, and Excel Detail, Ptatrick's business, and OCDetails, Anthony's business the better.

Why? I assume most on here heard about this site because is was mentioned on another message board. Most message boards get new members due to hearing about it on another board. That is why I now read and/or post on 8-9 message boards, I read about each of them on the other boards.

Just a guess here...

I'm thinking that he's thinking with all the same people over here it will be the same as over there.

However, if that's the thinking we have different people running this place and can't imaging it would turn in to the same.

Whenever a forum grows, there is always some risk of drama coming in, but like you said, I seriously doubt Bob would allow things to get out of hand. Also, most of us who have been around for a while in several forums are already aware of the people who cause the drama as it is always the same ones. These people seem to move from forum to forum exporting the drama, especially as they get timed out or banned from other forums, but we know who they are and we nor Bob would tolerate that drama.

Yeah I suddenly feel stupid for saying that, I am sure bob wouldn't let it get out of hand

The members here seem much nicer and not so political as members of other forums
I had a fine time at autopia for several years but got bored with the lack of forum variety, the advertising and whenever I suggested a radical but personally proven new way of polishing or cleaning a surface, some would say - thats impossible, can't be done, your insane and so forth

I demand more and more each year from detail products and whatever I mix up because if we don't, manufacturers sit on the bums and no progress is made

I've left plenty of once top shelf product brands behind and they don't like that
Once I find something better, the other gets left behind, regardless of their support, free samples etc. I am cruel in that way

Also I don't want any one supplier whether small or large to become like Autogeek seems to be getting too, totally dominating the market with forums that are made to give false reviews, increase traffic flow and interest in their stuff
You can't talk about any other products, despite them being superior to most of theirs

I like the small guys who work hard to get our business and hard earned money, I am sure bob is one that if the range grows, I will support
Excel is another, along with the superb Auto pro in florida who I get products from at dealer pricing (basically a wholesale supplier) including Lake country entire catalogue

...............whenever I suggested a radical but personally proven new way of polishing or cleaning a surface, some would say - thats impossible, can't be done, your insane and so forth........With all due respect DM a lot of us enjoyed your posts, ideas, and opinions over there. The problem seemed to be (at least for me) many of the products you talked about weren't easily available in the states or some were concoctions you home brewed and kept the formula secret.

I did a search for at least one product you once raved about but they weren't shipping to the states. Other times you talked about (or showed a video) of some miracle miracle potion you cooked up but when asked about it you would not reveal the formula.

Hey, you're the self-proclaimed "mad scientist of car care", so you've got to be prepared when you present something radically different that some are going to question it....... and that's going to happen on almost any forum you post on.

My suggestion is you need to explain some of the products better and/or provide a link to where they can be found. I'm sure you don't realize it but many of us in the states have never heard of the local stuff you're using. If you have some concoction that causes water to fly off and you're not going to to tell us how to make it or where we can buy some then why show it at all?

Just my 2 cents DM because I found many of your posts informative but also found many hard to understand because of the (unknown to us) products you often mention. I do look forward to more mad scientist car care tips :).

Hey, this post went pretty far off topic so let me close by saying I think that's a good idea Bob. I post a lot of links to your store, so as someone else already suggested, if you have a more visible link to this forum on the store that might help.

I just would like to say that when says they use something and someone thinks the product is awful, they should not come down on them. I see this often with Optimum users. There is a group that thinks Optimum users by default cannot be professionals, idiots for using it, and generally uneducated etc. Like my comment in the autopia thread, if you bring your angst here it will scare people away.

Actually you are spot on, these formula's of my own I could not give info on because it would break autopia forum rules (spamming)

The miracle one was most likely Trim Dream, my exterior trim burnishing cream for machine or hand use that permanently blackens wiper arms, spoilers and any urethane or other composite trims

Hard to discuss it in detail with forum rules in my mind
So yes your right, I shouldn't of put them up

I'm actually working on a hardener at the moment to increase the abrasion resistance of paintwork

Dunno about forum rules for this place
I suppose if there was something I mentioned thats not available to be shipped to the states by the manufacturer, I could ship it over for you all
