1) I clean the wheels before I begin to wash the vehicle. The first thing I do is rinse the wheels off a little so they are not dry. This helps to cool the wheels some before starting. Which reminds me, ALWAYS CLEAN THE WHEELS WHEN COOL, NEVER WHEN HOT!

2) After I give them a quick rinsing I take a bottle of Poorboys Spray and Rinse Wheel Cleaner or Four Star Ultimate Wheel Cleaner Gel and spray that on all four wheels and tires making sure to get full coverage. (Make sure to read the manufacturers instructions before starting.)

3) If the wheels and tires are not hardly dirty I just rinse them off and they are good to go. However, if they have some dirt and brake dust build up on them you may have to take a SOFT bristle brush to them. If the grime is really caked on I will take a soft rag to the wheels and scrub them, using more product if I have to.

4) Once you are all done working on the grime just rinse the tires and wheels off making sure to get the entire product off.

5) I always go back over the wheels with a soft towel to dry them when I am all done washing the car. DO NOT use the same towel you use on your painted surfaces.

Now your wheels and tires are all clean, time to shine them up!

6) For the tires you have several choices. Some of the products we sell and use on our own vehicles are: Shining Monkey No Spitting Tire Spray, Poorboy's Bold N Bright, Four Star Ultimate Tire Protectant Gel and Stoner's More Shine Less Time For Tires.

7) For the wheels you can add a coat or two of Poorboy's Wheel Sealant. This is a great product that will not only shine the wheels but will help protect them and make cleaning them MUCH easier. If you put a coat of Wheel Sealant on you will want to use a diluted amount of Poorboys World Spray and Rinse. The manufacturer recommends diluting the Spray and Rinse 50% with water.

Now your wheels and tires and clean and sparkling!

Hey Bob, Maxx the newb here. I have an '05 International with Alcoa basic garden verity alum. Wheels. The truck & wheels haven't been washed yet. (company Trk.) and i can't take it any more. This will be my first act as a would be DETAILER. I have read your other posts. Any thoughts would be great. Thanks

Hmmm I always do the tires last. I guess it would make more sense to do them 1st. I just got my PB wheel sealant in so you know what I need to do. Well it's a nice day out. Thanks for the tips. :)

I would start with Poorboy's Spray and Rinse of Four Star Tire Cleaner Gel and spray it on and scrub the wheels with a soft wheel brush. Then rinse them off. That should do the trick!
