Well, I've been playing around with redoing this site's theme for a while now, too long, and I just don't have the time to finish it so I have hired a design company to do some lite modifications to the site and a color change and all of that jazz. Below is a sneak peak of the new logo...minus the slogan. The slogan will change soon. And we kept the logo simple because I want it to print well on shirts and other media. I am sure you will all be happy with the final outcome.

I'm sure it will be a hit! It's really unique, Bob. Great job

Nice logo. I think the Detailing Bliss web site is one of the best good looking vBulletin setups although the gray text on dark background can be difficult to read. I tend to like darker background web sites since it is easier on the eyes in darker rooms.

I like it Bob. Not to nitpick but shouldn't flare be spelled flair?

Haha, you are right, I didn't catch that.

Bob

Yeah, I didn't do that. LOL You are right.

No it's like a flare that is used when you are broken down on the free-way so people can see you... the flare is a play on words, everyone will see the forum because of the "flare"

*In the voice of Pee-Wee Herman* "He meant to do that"...

I think motorcity is right. He just through that in there so it could be changed later.

I like the logo. I think you are going down the correct direction. Keep it simple, so you can use it in other mediums. As for the forums, I hope it stays simple (with a white background). Dark themes are so hard to deal with. To be fully honest I don't mind your current setup...

Thanks! I sort of like the current setup as well but the skin we are suing is not upgrade friendly and can be a pain to deal with.

I've seen the preview of the new theme and I think you will all like it. As a matter of fact I am using it now. :)

Well I am looking forward to seeing it then. :)

Now if I could only get my gaming clan to get off the dark themes...

Very "professional" and "sterile" in a good way!

Very nice!! I like the new look alot. Black and red is very "automotive" if you ask me. This new look is really going to set DetailingForums apart from the other automotive boards out there. Very good choices!!!

Hi Bob,

It looks pretty good. I am glad the main body color stayed white. The darker boarders aren't my thing, but I do say they look good together and better than many sites.

Thought I do have one suggestion so far. You detailing forums graphic in the upper left corner needs a little bit of space between the bottom of it and the top of the box. I think just a few pixels of white space would be a big help and make it not feel like that graphic is blending into the box.

otherwise, it looks very nice.

Oh I found another suggestion:

- The add banner should be inset the same amount of space as the forums are indented on the right side. It makes the add banner kinda look funny to be against the page on the upper right but the forums are kinda nicely centered. You can see you logo is indented on the upper left, just need to indent the banner on the upper right.

hopefully that description makes sense. if not I will screen cap it for you and point it out.

Hi I'm Peggy.

You're suggestion does make sense. However, the way the vBulletin header template is coded, is extremely difficult to line up the banners with the side of the forum. But I'll see what I can do :)

EDIT - I think I got it. Does it look ok now?

Peggy is the site designer by the way everyone. :)

Hi Peggy,

The spacing on the logo is much better. :)

The ad banner is a ton better as well. It's not lined up on my screen, but as long as it's not against the edge. I would almost say you could center it in the free space between the right edge and the logo.

The changes you made for the ad banner looks pretty good and scales nicely. Since I have dual monitors I stretched out the browser and it looks fine crunched or very wide.

Nice site Bob :)

Looks better! I like that the Detailing Forums logo is spaced a bit now from the horizontal line as well. Before the front of the car was touching the line. It was bothering me. lol I'm just too picky.

I did ;)

Actually it's not a "free space". vBulletin uses a table in the header template. The banners are centered in the right hand table, and are exactly the same distance from the right edge of the forum as the logo image is from the left edge of the forum. .
