Are you thinking of adding any pads to your line up of detailing supplies? If so what line would you think about adding?

Actually I contacted LC pads last week and they are supposed to send me some information. No clue when the info. will arrive though. I will keep you all posted for sure.

Funny thing is I got the LC package yesterday. I have too look through it and talk to Brad yet but I think it might be a go. I know it won't be the entire line so what pads would you like to see? And what sizes?

Oh Fudge I new you were going to ask that!
Since I haven't gotten a chance to try them yet I'm not 100% sure.
I was thinking the VC pads, and I think the pads should have an edge, not rounded. I think that edge is important for getting in to cracks and crevices. Eric did send me some tufted pads, but I haven't had a chance to try them. IMHO I think the VC with the edge will probably be the way to go. I am assuming you can get those in 6.5" and 7.5" or 8" pads. That should cover both the PC and rotaries. I have both and the options would be great. I don't know what the difference is between the VC and the High Gloss Pads of say PAC. Is that just a marketing tech., I'm not sure. I guess the basic thing is, is the foam the same? Maybe Eric can shed some light on it. What were you guys thinking?
I was looking at it a little bit last night and think that the VC, VC round edge, and flat might be the way to go for starters. Most likely we would start ith the VC and see how things went from there.

VC and FLAT!!!! oh heck carry them all  I like their 6 inch pads the best for rotary and the pc. If you can ask them to send you a few samples of the 4 inch VC pads...I know just the perfect cyclo to try them out on :D

I will give the samples a try and see if they will. I doubt it but it is worth a try.

My favorite LC pads are the 7.5" curved edge model (the one with the beveled edge and velcro backing housed in molded plastic). I like to roll my pads and find that the shape transitions more easily over bumps and curves. I seem to encounter more curved panels than flat panels these days.

Ask them Bob. Eric sent me some tufted pads to try. I have not had a chance to try them yet, but they do look interesting.

Awd330- do you like the 7.5 on the rotary or a D/A machine?

I use them on a DA, but I purchased a backing plate which will allow me to use them with a rotary too. I plan to try out that combo in the Spring. I bought some of the LC tufted pads to try out as well.
I've been using a DA for about 2.5 years, but I'm a rotary newb. I've only used a rotary once so far, and that was under the careful supervision of Poorboy. One of my goals for 2005 is to improve my proficiency with a rotary.

I only use the 7.5 on the D/A machine too. I find they are to hard to control on the rotary with my experience level. The small pads are much easier to handle, especially at higher speeds.

I can relate to what mirror_image is saying. Smaller pads on the rotary are definately easier to handle.

Not one bit yet. I did not realize that the holidays would be so busy. But I am sure we will have a decision soon.

Not yet guys. It has just been very busy here. Between the holidays, car shopping, and so on. Tomorrow I am doing business taxes so I will look at the pads and stuff then and contact some contacts. LOL Sorry for the huge delay.

ok guys....I contacted Eric again to get this rolling. We won't be carrying a large amount right away but we will be carrying some if all goes well. I am looking at the curved edge vc 7.5" pads to start.
Lets get a count of what you all need or want again so I don't have to shift through it all again. :D I will talk to him about 4" samples.
Thanks fellas.

I'm actually pretty well stocked up on pads at the moment. The only thing I'd like to try would be the 4" pads with the corresponding backing plate (threaded for a PC). That might make a good setup for windshield polishing or spot repairs.

I am going to try and get a few samples of those to try out as well.

That is about all I use my PC for now. It works great with something like autoglym glass polish. Caked on crud and "wiper line" comes off with great ease. (*tip* terry cloth for wiping most off then MF for final wipe and your glass will be nice and streak free ;) )
Thanks for the update Bob.

Oh I am probably going to go broke, and if I don't go broke my wife will probably shoot me. I will most likely order 3 maybe 4 of each pad to start. Which ones are you thinking of stocking (colors). Price wise where are you thinking, actually not too worried about that because you guys have been kicking some major butt on price.

Hard to say yet. First we have to see if we even qualify for a dealer. I have some stuff to fax to Eric tomorrow night.
And price I am not sure of because some companies make us sell at a certain price not higher no lower so we shall see.

Nothin'. I imagine it might take couple of weeks? Not sure though.
Well, got some news today. Eric said we could go ahead and start ordering these pads. I am going to sit down toniht and figure out pricing and then we are going to put through and order and see how well the first order goes for us.
I am thinking we are going to order some 7.5" Variable Contact Curved Edge Pads like shown here: http://www.lakecountrymfg.com/foampads_curv.html to start.
I will keep you all posted and you should hear an update tomorrow sometime.
Thanks again for your patience and support in this matter. :)

Spring is coming and I need pads--looking forward to more business with Bob and Brad. :D
Thanks everyone! I will update you this afternoon on what all we ordered.
As for the 4" pads I will wait until the second order to get those samples. Let me see how things work with this first small order first.
Thanks

Yellow Cutting Pad
Orange Light Cutting Pad
Green Dual Purpose Pad

Ok guys, the pads came in today! I hope they are what you wanted. They are the Lake County Manufacturing Pads. They are the curved edge variable contact pads seen here; http://www.lakecountrymfg.com/foampads_curv.html We got a few of every color so we have all of your grades covered. These are the 7.5" pads. This is the measurement of the inside of the pad.
If you have any questions feel free to ask. If you want to buy some before we get them on the site shoot either Brad or myself a pm. We are selling them for $9.00 for an intro. price. :D
Thanks!
The pads are now on the site so your can order away via our store www.danase.com
Thanks!
Ok guys, after checking around and looking at our old pads these new pads we just got in are what some sell as the 8.5" pads. LCM calls them 7.5" pads because they measure the inside diameter. These are best suited with a 7" backing plate.
The 6.5" pads or what others sell as 7.5" pads will be coming in about a week.

The 6.5" pads would probably be more suited for the PC correct. What are you thinking on price?

I use the 8.5 on the PC for a couple of things. I use the black finishing pads for LSP application and they work great and cover more area quickly. I usually keep a variety of sizes around just in case.

Yes, I think the 6.5" would be more suited for the PC. We will call them 7.5" though to kep inline with what other vendors do so that people are not confused.
They should be here next week sometime. The price will most likely be $9.75 but we are sure to hacve an intro. price on them to start. ;)

Oh I am so confused now :?
Ok, let me try and simplify. If you use 7.5" pads from places like properautocare.com you will get 7.5" pads from us. Lake Country labels them by the inside dimension and not the outside is all. We changed ours to match the masses so it won't confuse anyone, 7.5: pads are coming next week is all.

I was joking about being confused. I need pads for both my rotary and my PC. I'm trying to figure out how many to buy and which ones to buy. You may have a phone call coming next week :D

 Hard to tell because it confused me as well.
Ok, the 7.5" pads are in and up on the web site! We also added some packing plates to our store as well.
In the 7.5" pads we have White Polishing, Yellow Cutting, and Black Finessing pads.
They will be regular $9.75 and are on sale for $8.50 through next week.

Well I just bought Bob and Brads whole supply of LC Pads  Na I left a few for some other members. Something I noticed when looking at your site and other vs. LC site. Everyone else except LC list the Pads as 7.5" and 8.5". Yet on LC site they list them as 6.5" and 7.5". Why doesn't everyone stick with LC pad sizing? Now I can really see where the confusion comes in.

Yeah, our supply was just cut in half! LOL Thanks Don! :)
I have nooooooooooo idea why they do that. That is what confused me when ordering. I ordered 7.5" pads the first time only to find that they were bigger than my 7.5" pads at home. After talking to Eric I came to the conclusion that everyone sells them, except LCM, by the outside diameter. I would love to stick with LCM's sizing but that just confused everyone so I think it is better just going with the masses.
