View Full Version : No bias here folks!
I just want to make clear that we have no bias on these forums. Talk about any products you wish. I get a lot of emails and pm's asking if it is alright to post pics of a vehicle done with a product not from the sponsors or talk about a product the sponsors don't carry. Sure, go ahead, I don't care. I can assure you that neither myself or the sponsors of this forum are not threatened by any other brand or store out there. I don't want this site to be a bias site where only certain items can be talked about. I've also had a few customers lately tell me that owners of some other detailing sites have asked them to not talk about Danase products. That is fine with us and we'd hope that if someone asked you something like that that you'd not patronize those forums / stores and hang out here where we won't ask you to do such ridiculous things.
Thanks to all members of DetailingForums.com. You participation is going great and we look forward to growing with you.

Is it just me, or is there an extra not in there?
 I know what you mean. This is a great site and I really hope it catches on.

One of the reasons I stopped posting on another forum that I used to be very active on was because only the product of the moment was allowed to be discussed. Former products of the moment were taboo and new products that nobody had heard of or currently worships have no weight whatsoever. Unless, of course, the new product is mentioned by a senior member of the forum who has nothing better to do than spend endless hours reading and responding to every thread on the board to ensure that he is thought of as the only expert of everything detailing. Personally I don't know how someone can be a full time detailer and spend as much time as some of those guys spend on the internet....
Anyway, I'm just about to leave another forum that I have been active on for the very same reason. It seems that more and more these forums just don't want you to talk about things that don't profit the sponsors. At least the Autogeek forums are upfront and honest with what they want you to talk about. It is a company message board sponsored by only one company, so of course they want the discussion to be about them. If you want objective discussion about any product that comes up, then apparantly the DetailingForums are the last standing objective and non-censured forums left on the internet.
It will take time for this place to get as large as an Autopia or DetailCity, but those forums started out really small too. Autopia has been around for nearly ten years in one form or another and Detail City has been around for nearly six years. Give DetailingForums five or six years and we will all be considered OGs of the forums. :)

Yeah! I'm gonna be an OG!
What's an OG?
BTW, I came to this forum because I read such glowing reviews of DWG on another forum. Autopia, I believe.

DF is fairly new and the problem with some more mature forums is that certain people have camped out there and become the expert on everything. If there are enough posters, this will likely attract similar experts. My real gripe is some people do not like certain products for whatever reason and bash it at any opportunity.

You have typed a point that went through my mind time after time when I read the "experts" at other forums.

It doesn't sound right does it?

Well, like today for example, I was trolling another board and they where talking about a new product line. It was a good discussion and had about 8 replies. Then boom, they deleted it. Why? Who knows but my guess is because it was not a sponsored product. One site, I know for a fact, one of the sponsors cries to the forum owners every time someone post something they don't like and the forum owners delete it. It sickens me that people still patronize those sites or sponsors.
