I was looking at using Meg APC (10:1) sprayed all over the egine, then hosed off, use a brush and towels to get into the tight areas, dry, then some CD-2, for the paint use some ONR as a QD followed with Duragloss AW?
I was also thinkin of removing the alt, blet and battery as it only takes 10 minutes tops. I need to replace my spark plug wires and put the new ones on using looms to give it the real clean look, so I was thinking while the wires are off I should fill the spark plug holes with tin foil as I clean the engine? Any other pointers or other products I should use?

I'd recommend a higher strength APC concentration (personally use 4:1 with APC) and picking up some soft brass brushes for use on the castings (they'll scrub the grime off alot faster than nylon bristled ones). The existing plug wires shouldn't really get in the way too much. But if you want to, go for it. I'm assuming the plugs are staying in?

Do the underside of the hood first by the way and dry it off before starting on the engine. Also, be ginger around the electrical components.

Other than that it looks good.

Let us know how it goes. I have not tried my hands at an engine detail yet, still a bit nervous about what I am suppose to clean and not clean, but I will get to it here soon. Still got a few things I need to do before I tackle the engine.
