In full disclosure, I remain a partner in the Ultima and Polycharger brands and Premium Finish Care, LLC (the parent company of Ultima and Polycharger) will continue to be a supporter of Autopia.org. I am no longer a partner in The Perfect Shine, LLC (parent company of Sonus, Ultimate Detailing Machine and the Autopia-CarCare.com store), but The Perfect Shine will continue to be a sponsor.(DB end quote) __________________

I think David is focusing on getting Autopia a marketplace for car detailing. He wants it to grow and probably was too busy trying to do too much by running Perfect Shine and everything else, etc. As usual, you often can make money as the middle man who gets percentage of the take (pay by click) rather than the seller. The average joe has not discovered detailing so there is still an exploding market. I think AG recognizes Autopia's Internet presence so it is going to be part of it.

Maybe but it seems as if they split an LLC partnership. I don't see David O as being stupid enough to lose his share of the money. I suspect there is something more to the story.

I would have to guess the two David's worked out a financial settlement to buy out the other's ownership in each company.

I suspect there is something more to the story.

Doubt it. I would rather own most (or all) of one company and focus totally on it than half (or less) that two companies and have to split my focus between the two. It would appear that is what these two did.

Ya, it looks as if David O bought David B out of the ACC side of the business and owns the "perfect shine" slogan and product lines. If either side of the business was making good money neither partner would be bought out easily.

Very true. Many times people want the company to make loads of many to drive up the selling price. Not saying that was David B or O's intention, just saying that just because the companies were sold does not mean they were not making good money.

I think David B. was just over extended. He was trying to do too much and probably some lines suffered. If you are in the business, you have to promote and keep enhancing to sustain sales over time. Having too many things (like launching the UDM) was a major distraction given the issues. Interestingly, Meg's new G110 went through similar early issues (early life failures) so even the best can have issues.

In this day, it is not actually selling the product but the portal that is important (like Amazon.com. eBay, etc). This is where the money is. No inventory, just collect a tax on each click or sale.
