I've seen a ton of ZR1 Vette's and I cringe every time. Chevy puts this glass section in the hood to show off a plastic engine cover that looks like it's been painted by some kid with Krylon paint. Looks like something some kid would do to their Escort out of boredom. Why are they showing this off? At least give the owners a carbon fiber cover with some REAL emblems and not the Corvette text and logo embossed into the plastic. Or better yet show off a cast aluminum intake like Ferrari does. And what's with the blue color anyway? I hate that. I can see red, yellow, or better yet silver but that color blue is not, and has never really been, a color used for "racey" cars. It's on the engine cover and on the brake calipers. Every time I see one of these cars that hideous blue and cheap plastic engine cover are where my eyes are drawn and it just irritates me. Sure it has some balls but for a $100K+ car I don't want cheap painted plastic showing through to the world.
I love the Vette but I just wish they would of put a little more effort toward some of the parts and choices used on this thing.
