What do you do to winterize your ride? Both detailing and non-detailing related.

Typically I'll fill up my windshield washer fluid and put a bottle of iso heat in the tank. I always think about checking the antifreeze mixture but never do. For detailing I put on a few coats of Collnite and RainX. I used to put in the winter floor mats too but now with the Jeep I use the same ones all year.

I usually don't have the time to do my winter stuff until after winter. So right now I have not done anything. In a few weeks I'll clean it really good inside and out and get a coat of wax on it. I used to do a clean and wax before the winter came but the last few years I've had to wait until after the snow. :(

Honestly? Whatever I grab first. Once I get it waxed I am usually pretty good about rewaxing once a month or so. It used to be Collinite but I'm not sure if I have any left or not.

I washed and waxed and polished both cars aboiut 3 to 4 weeks ago. FULL DETAIL on both. I used Collinite on both. DPP, DPS, Collinite and DWG on both.

I did the Red Grand Prix in the Garage with ONR. Worked great.

I recently bought some Car Brite stuff. APC and Scent stuff. It is called Terminator. I pour about a oz or so in the resivoir and top off the Washer fluid and that works great and smells good too. Mango and New Scent. Wife got the mango and I got the other. If I fart or dog farts in the car, spray the windshield wipers and in comes the freshness. WIFE LOVES IT, and so does the kid. lol

LOL!!! I just about busted a gut laughing at that.

I have some mint air freshener. I never thought of putting some in the windshield wiper fluid. I'll have to try that.

Does the smell just come through the fresh air vent?

I do not really winterize the car as far as mechanical things go. I keep up with it year round and perform monthly checks on both cars. As far as detailing goes, they were washed with ONR, sealed with FK 1000p and will get OCW monthly.

Just replaced my rug mats with Lexus rubber mats made for my car.

To get the roadwork crap off i just rewashed and 2 coats of dwg than 2 upgp.

Will wash less often 2 x a month or as needed if dirty. ONR weather upon us here in NY...

cheers

When I get around to it I like to change the antifreeze mixture, top off all fluids, swap tire's, replace wipers, small tune up, and put down some protective carpet film under my floor mats. Im usually the guy that's changing the tires in the early morning at the first snow fall.

For detailing I usually use KSG topped with P21S but I think im going to scratch that and remove it for some Danase Paint Sealant topped with Megs #16 this year on the Dango. I also like using a sealant on the glass year round so im going to go with DPS this year.

oh yeah. You would not believe how well it cover up smells. It is "my wifed approved"

I started with when I put vinegar with the washer fluid, then I started smelling the freshness of the vinegar, then I found some freshner at walmart, then they stopped carrying it. Advance has a single dose and that worked, but I bought this stuff from Car Brite and it works great. I just spray one spray on the floorboard and the smell lasts for a week.
