View Full Version : What is everyone doing for the weekend?
I think tonight I am going to hit up a classic and hot rod weekly meet and then detail my mom's Buick tonight. The rest of the weekend is up in the air. How about the rest of you? Any big plans of big details?
No detailing for me! Although I owe Matt a detail on his Miata.
Tonight I'm picking up some steelies for the integra, tomorrow I'm going to get it aligned and then I have a graduation party to show my face at.. then I might head out to A2 to check out their weekly meet. And sunday... maybe hit woodward later in the day since a bunch of people hang out there.
I'll be driving the super loud integra :? :?
I was going to head to Woodward Saturday night as well.
Ok scratch tonight's plans..... tonight will probably consist of me stealing Dave's buick and going to pick on people or something.... or sitting at home playing UT2004. :?

I'm planning to detail my neighbor's Acura MDX. It's a burgundy red color. It will probably be clay, a little SSR2.5 as needed, followed by Vanilla Moose and EX combo. I'll put a paste carnauba topper on in a week or so. I'm thinking about the new Blue Natty's for that job.
I'm also puppy sitting for a friend this weekend. I have two dogs of my own. We'll have my younger pup's brother staying for a few days while his owners go up to the Poconos to watch the car races.

Sounds like you will have your hands full this weekend.
Do you usaully wait a week between EX and Carnuba topper?

Going out with Ryan and crew.. I'm not into hanging out in bars with super drunk people so I stay FAR FAR away from that.

I usually wait a week between any sealant and carnauba topper. It's a procedure that I adopted when I was using Klasse SG as my primary sealant. I ran into too many "hazing" problems when I tried topping with a carnauba after only waiting a day or two. When I started waiting a week, the problems went away.

Oh big plans on Saturday. Blue Angels. Daughter love the Thunderbirds last year. Oh in case you have not figured it out, it is an air show. Last year they had a pick-up truck that had a jet engine on it. The truck did 351 MPH down the runway. It was a blast.

I love the Blue Angels! I have only been to two air shows in my life and they both rocked! Hoping to hit up one this year though.

Well the air show was a total success.
The Blue Angels rocked.
They did a 7G turn in front of the crowd with full afterburner. Man was that loud. They did a little barn storming over the crowd at more then 500mph. I was expecting them to do it, and was actually watching the guy coming from our backside. I never expected the one from the left. It shocked me pretty good. They also had a C130 with booster rockets for short runway take off. That big of a plane took off in 1500 feet of runaway. That had to be one of the coolest things I have ever seen.
They had the Masters of Disaster there, and they had a jet semi truck. The truck did 357MPH down the runway. Holly crap was that thing flying. I believe they called the truck shock-wave. I was going to post up a small clip of it, but like a dummy I left the digital camera in the truck.
If you get a chance to see the air show it is great.

Sounds like it was a cool show! :D
My detail this morning came off quite well. I wound up going with Meg's #82/VM/EX (original formula). Trade Secret will be used as the topper next week.
Tomorrow, my hubby and are are taking the 3 dogs (our 2, plus the visitor) to a dog club gathering. It will be a barbecue and activities (like races) for the pups. Should be fun.

Our Bonfire turned out to be a smoking mass of ashes by the time we got there :( We drove over to 28th st looking for a gathering of people with cars but found nobody :(
BBQ at my parents today!
Yesterday I got a call from my mom at like 7:30 and told me my dad's car broke down near the golf course. So we went out, he said the belt fell off, and looked at it but the belt was off and antifreeze was everywhere so I figured it was the water pump and we had it towed. Then we just sort of spent the day a/c shopping. I decided to get a bigger a/c for my garage. It just did not keep the garage cool enough when I detailed my mom's Buick Friday evening. That was about it.
Sounds like everyone had a good weekend minus Scott trying to find a bon fire.

Scott there was a huge bonfire behind that truck. Only thing was it was about 50' HORIZONTALLY back behing the truck.

I just got back from the dog club barbecue. My one year old boy won one of the races, so he got a blue ribbon and a little plaque. :D My 6 month old girl and her brother "ran" a leg, but they didn't really understand what they were supposed to do. They decided to just stop and socialize with all the spectators instead of running.

Yep, you're probably right!
The little girl treated the event like she was a diva walking down a red carpet lined with her fans. She stopped to greet each person like she was saying: "Hello dear." "It's so good to see you." "Thank you all for coming." "Would you like my autograph?" :P
