View Full Version : Poorboy's Quick Detailer Plus
If someone else wants to do a real review go right ahead. I am just going to say a few things about it. ;)
I have not used this product in a very long time. I don't know why but I just haven't. Well, yesterday we washed my fiance's car and she wanted to use a quick detailer on it to shine it up a bit. Well, I went into the garage and found my bottle of QD+ sitting on the shelf all lonely and neglected. So, I grabbed it and a microfiber and headed out into the hot sun. The car shines so good now and the product went on and off sooooooooo easy! I don't know why I have not used this lately but I will be using it a lot now. Oh, and then it rained and the water beaded very nice as well. :)
Did you do the.. spray on, spread and wait for haze? I found it works great as a quicky wax. I used it on Mike's supra after we detailed it for the show at Cobo and really liked it.

I sprayed it on, and wiped it to cover the car good and Amber followed me with a microfiber and took it off.

I use QD+ as a quick spray wax too. I spray, spread, let haze for a minute, then wipe off. I'll use it as a refresher for carnauba LSPs and as a touch up for items like chrome tail pipes. I also recommend it as a maintenance spray for friends who want their cars to look nice, but aren't as obsessive about detailing as I am. I tell them to use it once a month after washing.

Yeah, I will for sure be using this product much much more now!

How is it on Black? Does it give that wet look?

I wouldn't say that it is "dripping wet". It's more of a clean and satiny wet look. Think of it as a richer carnauba appearance rather than a glossy silicone look.
It made the dark blue ZX2 shine good.

Here's my review of it:
My winter protection booster!
I use this at the Pay and Spray wash bays through the winter. It is quick and pretties up the paint without needing much time, nor needing access to power to run machines.
Instructions give you 3 ways of using it.
I find that spraying onto the finish is not the best way, though, as any little breeze tends to blow some of the mist all over the car (into crevices, onto the glass, trim, etc.), which leaves white dots all over, so I either spray into the mf or I pour it onto the car.
Spreads well, removes easily. Can be used in the sun or shade.
Doesn’t require set up/drying time, so it is ideal for use in a damp environment such as a car wash bay.
The cleaners will remove mild oxidation. Not so mild too! :D
I find it best to use after washing the car, just to be safe, as it doesn’t have the lubricity of a waterless wash.
Lasts longer than typical qd sprays.
Does separate, so you need to thoroughly shake before use. Comes in a clear bottle, though, so you can see that it needs to be shaken, and when it has been thoroughly shaken.
Overall, something everyone living in areas that are covered in snow during some part of the year should have! You can even use it in the summer too!
Is now called QW+ (Quick Wax+)
