View Full Version : Poorboy's testing new products.
I was reading on another site that Poorboy's is testing a few new products for next year. Looks like a lot more good products will be coming from them!

The wheel sealant is pretty nice ;) I have to get a little more time with it before posting a review though.

Tell us more about it please. What is its purpose and what exactly is it? :)

You got some too. I have been waiting for the "season" (christmas)to get over with so I can do some detail. Can't wait to try it. I just ordered 28 or more pound of poorboys stuff. Steve said he would throw in some samples--Christmas is here almost :D :D

I've been testing the wheel sealant prototype for several weeks now. It seems to be much more effective than using regular paint sealants. I have two German vehicles with enormous amounts of brake dust. The dust just simply wipes off wheels treated with the new PB sealant. I will definitely be purchasing this item when it goes to market.
The 2 QD prototypes are also very nice. The VOC compliant QD+ replacement is very easy to use. It still has some cleaning properties, but it leaves a nice warm glow to the finish. The Spray & Gloss QD is a whole new product. It's also easy to use (aren't all Poorboy's products easy to use?), and leaves more of a wet gloss but without the streaking typically associated with high gloss sprays.
[edit to add QD information]
This new sealant sounds like it would be something good for detailers to add to their list of services. Maybe charge a little extra for it. Especially to the Benz and Beemer crowd.

Yes, it would also make the next round of detailing easier since the wheels won't require as much effort to clean.

I have 2 wheels on the semi truck at work with it on. and my car will have it on this weekend.
It has been on the semi for about a week now with 2 washes. I am curious to see how it holds up.
It smells so yummy too :D just like SSR2 I think Bubble gummy.
Hopefully I have BMW coming up so I want to throw it on there too if I have enough.

Not only does the new Wheel Sealant look good, but the new detail spray is showing great promise too! :D

The more I try the Spray & Gloss QD prototype, the more I like it. I currently mix a couple products (S&W & Meg's Final Detail) to make my own custom QD spray. The S&W provides the cleaning power, while the FD adds the "pop". The only downside is that the FD is sometimes prone to streaking when humidity is high or temperatures are cold. The Poorboy's prototype provides a similar look to my custom blend, but without the streaking problem. The only improvement I would like to see is a little more cleaning power.

Good points Marj!
I'm actually hoping that Steve goes for "maximum" pop, and very light cleaning ability with this new QD (similar to FD).
I also like to mix S & W 50/50 with another QD. However, I still only use that mix on a clean, or very, very lightly dusting/dirty vehicle......... like during the drying process after a wash, or to remove morning dew after washing/waxing the previous day or so. If there's any doubt, I go to full strength S & W. Then I'll go to a full strength QD for max "POP. :D
In the end, there should be "no" confusion that the new QD is "not" a replacement for S & W. It will be interesting to see which way Steve goes.

I was talking to Steve today about the new QD. I'm looking forward to adding that to my collection. Who says you can have too much product?
