Express Detailing

I started this forum for those of you that do express detailing or any kind to have a place to talk. I know on other detailing forums it's frowned upon and they consider people "hacks" that do it. I'm big in giving the customer what they want. If they want a $100 detail they'll get it. If they want a $400 detail they'll get that as well. Many of you know that I do all ranges of detailing. However, most of the customers I get want a cheap detail and they just want the car to look cleaner than when it came in. So feel free to talk about any sort of express detailing in this forum.

Would you mind explaining how you handle and discuss your price with a customer who is looking for the cheapest price? How do handle objections based on your suggestions? Since I am new to mobile detailing, this would be of great benefit to me.

Basically what I do is just ask the customer what they are looking for or explain my services and what they get for the prices. If a customer has a daily driver and just wants it to look better than it does and uses automatic car washes I'd for sure recommend an express detail unless they planned on washing it properly. If someone wanted to make the car look cleaner to help sell it, I'd recommend the express detail. If someone had a show car or really took pride in what they drove I'd recommend a full detail. If a customer is coming to you with a filthy nasty car that they don't take care of I think it's a waste to do a full detail. But some customers in that scenerio want a full detail and I'm more than happy to do the service for them.

No problem. I know all areas will be different. I know guys in some areas that can do $400 details all day long and nobody questions it and detailers in areas where they are lucky to get $100 a detail.

I transitioned from being a general manager for one of the bigger full service car washes to opening my own shop. I have to say that the "express detail" I provide my customers is not the same as the express at a car wash. The wash I worked for would shot for a hour though time on theirs. I'm lucky to be finished cleaning the outside by then.
