DetailingForums.com Rules
The goal is to make this a great place for professional detailers and detailing enthusiasts to discuss everything that is detailing. This means a place to learn, share ideas, and meet fellow detailing nuts who share the same passion as you. DetailingForums.com is an open discussion board where members are free to discuss all products, not just the products currently carried by any past, current or future sponsors of this board.
Member Conduct
All members should treat each other with respect. Name calling, taunting, flaming, or any personal attacks will not be tolerated and can result in a permanent banning, this includes harassment through private messages. Remember, not everyone will share the same views or do things the same way you do. There are many ways to do things and while we may do things differently we all have the same goal in mind. The use of foul language should be kept to a minimum and pornographic images, links, etc are not allowed under any circumstance.
Advertising - Spam Guidelines
Product Suppliers/Manufacturers
No spamming period! Anyone caught spamming in the forums, private messaging, or other will be banned forever. If you want to advertise your business, product or service please contact an administrator via private message or the contact us form. If you are affiliated with a detailing company who sells or manufactures products commercial posting is not allowed unless you are a sponsor. The common practice of having others post for you through paid reviews, free product for review, bumping old product threads, or other is almost always obvious. Sliding in as technical support doesn't work either, that's why companies have customer service/technical support and people know where to find you.
Members
Members posting sales and general links to other forums and non sponsor stores is fine, we understand that people like variety and visit other forums, non sponsors, etc. Members with a signature that links to a non sponsor website will be asked to remove the link, or it may automatically be removed by a moderator or administrator. Your personal detailing blog, twitter, myspace, facebook, car photo’s, or similar are okay unless it's a fan page for your retail website, etc.
Professional Detailers
Professional detailers are allowed to have a business name and website link in their signature as long as they are not huge and distract from the forum discussion. We encourage you to watermark your images with your business name, logo or other to prevent picture stealing. The rules for pro detailers are subject to change.
Chat Box
The chat box is mostly for small talk, saying hello, or a quick question and so on. The chat box can expand into a fully functional chat room and you will find options for text color, size, etc. All of the same rules for the forum still apply in the chat box such as treating other members with respect, no foul language, and no spam in general. The chat box also features a full log of all chats that you can go back and read if you like. This may be deleted every few weeks. Visitors and members with under 10 post's will not be able to view the chat box, this is to prevent spam.
10 Post Rule
Members with 10 posts or less are not eligible for "forum sponsored" contests. This does not include outside sponsor contests and the rules they set for individual contest, giveaways, etc which have nothing to do with Detailing Forums.
Posting in the classifieds section of the forum is not allowed until you reach 10 posts or more. A few quality posts in exchange for being able to profit (without charge) from the forum classifieds is a fair trade.
Members with under 10 post's will not be able to view the chat box
These are just some basic guidelines to keep things civil and so DetailingForums.com does not turn into a breeding ground for spam and member fighting. DetailingForums.com does not take responsibility for any misinformation posted which may result in vehicle damage or injury.
The most important rule of all is HAVE FUN AND ENJOY THE FORUMS!
