So I've found out the hard way what kind of vultures credit card processing agents can be. I put a feeler out a month ago to see what everybody had to offer and I'm still receiving more spam then I know what to do with. On top of that I have a guy that continues to call and harass me. He wants my bank account info before he'll show me any kind of contract. What I want to know is who's everybody using and hows their service. I'm not going with a company that I have to fight to get straight answers out of before I'm even a client.
I was using First Data but gave them the boot after numerous errors and denied cards that worked everywhere else. I have a friend who has been trying to get me to switch to her company so I am going to check that out. I use Paypal as back up for credit cards.

That's funny. The guy harassing me is with First Data. I been thinking of going with Paypal until I can figure out who I want to go with. Go thing about Paypal is that I can do it all from my computer or cell phone. I haven't gotten a land line for the shop and would like to avoid doing so. There is a wifi signal close enough too so I don't need internet yet either.
The computer or phone part was nice about First Data, I would do it all through a secure connection and print out a receipt for the customer to sign, no real paper trail. I have to be able to work on the go so I am looking for the same setup without the hassle. Doing retail and detail I have to have a versatile set up. I used first data for more than TDS too.
I used Paypal. But check with your local credit unions. They sometimes do this and have much better rates.

I use intuit. just started my mobile business 6 months ago and it works great.
I've used Square UP with good success https://squareup.com/ This is actually more useful than I imagined it would be for mobile dealings. With or without the card reader it works and the purchaser signs and even gets a receipt emailed to them.
Also for anyone with a smartphone and the paypal app you can simply bump phones now. Kinda crazy but it works lol. They just released an update where I can take a picture of a check and have it deposited into my account in 6 - 10 business days.

That's who I ended up going with. So far so good but, I want to get the card reader to make the process a little faster.

I really like the idea of squareup but, they don't support my blackberry yet and my reception is so poor around my shop I'd be afraid of transactions not going through.

That was my biggest gripe with Blackberry. Nothing supports it! Does your BB have wifi? I'm not sure if it will work over wifi though.

It does but, that's not my main concern. I get really poor cell reception in the shop and only marginal reception outside. I would hate to make my customers watch the "reception dance" while I had their card in hand.
