I decided today that my goal is to lose 20 pounds before november. That gives me a little over three months and about 7 pound per month. I think i can do this!

Thanks! I am about 5'-7.5" and weigh anywhere from 178-181 depending on the day. I weighed 160 a year ago! I have been working out lately so I am hoping some of that weight is muscle weight but I have a gut I want gone.

My plan to lose the weight are pretty simple. I always read Men's Health and other resources like that and it seems the best way for me is to start a meal replacement program, which I started Friday. I bought some Slim Fast shakes, will probably go with Met-RX when these are gone. Instead of eating a crap load throughout the day I have a shake in the morning, a shake for lunch and a regualr dinner. I also stopped eating before bed. I used to have like 2 bowls of cereal before I would go to bed everynight and it is just habbit so I stopped that. Oh, and one more thing SMOOTHIES! I love smoothies, I am a smoothie freak, and if I feel hungry I make one or run over to Smoothie King www.smoothieking.com . MUCH better than snaking on a cupcake or something else that is nasty for you.

It's funny because in highschool I was always trying to gain weight and was taking weight gainers and working out and it did nothing for me. Now I am trying to loose it!

Where did you find the Slimfast Bob? I wandered around Meijer's for 30 minutes trying to find some the other day and found nothing. I've pretty much just stopped eating more than one real meal a day.. I want to at least substitute a shake in there or something.

EDIT.. SOS has the MET-RX chocolate meal replacement shake mixes for $28 bucks for 24 packages.. that's a pretty good deal. I think I'm going to order some of those.

Slim Fast at Kroger near the pharmacy. I actually bought the Kroger brand which is called Slim Rite I think. Was cheaper and the same thing. SOS has awesome deals! We went to GNC and Better Health and SOS has them for half the price.

Good luck on your goal. 7lbs a month is certainly doable. 10 years ago I married and weighed 165lbs 6'2". Yes I barely sustained life. I peaked last year at 267. I was pretty active but the weight started to bother me. I'd finish a large suv and was out of breathe. I dropped 15-20lbs pretty fast on a low protein diet plus excersize (3-4 weeks). After that it has been damn slow. I looked the other day and I've been averaging just under 3lbs a month for much of this year. I'm in the 220's now. Snice I joined a gym (and actually go), being out of breathe isn't a problem now as I run often. The weight now just frustrates me because I enjoy running and it slows me down. My goal was to run 3 miles in 30 minutes. If I was 180-190 now I could blow that away but to date best I've done is around 32 minutes. Injuries haven't helped either.
