Many of you may have seen these pictures up already on other sites but I figured I would post them up here also in case anyone here doesn't visit the other detailing sites.
I always mean to post more here but always forget, sorry about that.
This is a regular clients car that I have cared for now for some time but have not seen it in over 6 months and it really showed
Lots of random halo-scratches, it was keyed, it was hit and rubbed up against a curb!! So after washing it, claying it and doing some light wet sanding I began leveling the paint with a black Optimum wool pad and some new Opt. Professional compound, mainly only on the top sections.
The few areas I wet sanded also were leveled with the wool pad and Opt Pro Compound on the sides of the car. The majority of the sides wereleveled out using an Opt. black wool pad with Optimum Compound, which is not as agressive as the Optimum Pro Compound.
I then went over the top sections with the black wool pad and the Opt Compound. Next came Opt Compound again with an Opt green mild polishing pad, this step went over the entire car.
Next came Optimum Polish with a blue polishing pad. This step just about removed all the wool/compound hazing and swirls and I could of went over it with my Cyclo at this point, waxed it and I am sure the client would of been well pleased. Being the over anal guy I am though I went 2 more finishing steps. So after the blue pad and Opt Polish I used Opt Polish again with a black foam fine finishing pad at about 1200 rpm's.
My final step was a white foam ultra fine finishing pad and Opt Polish at 1000 rpm's.
I then polished the wheels, dressed the tires and finished up any small details, like emblems and also the interior.
I have no BEFORE shots but it was pretty nasty.
