Tonight is the night I get the new ride and hand over the Civic to it's new owners. I can't wait to get in the new car and head home with it. It is about an hour ride home so I should get a really good feel for it by then. I already asked Brad about getting some pics of it done for me so those should be up soon.

Congrats Bob! Did I miss a post about the new car? I remember you asking about Subarus, but I can't recall reading any post with the specifics about the new car. Looking forward to seeing the pics.

Thanks!

Oh you know what, I don't think I told anyone here. Oops!

I am getting a 2005 Subaru Impreza RS with the sport package and the one they got me has the fog light kit as well which is cool. I am getting Crystal Grey Metallic which I never see around so that should be cool. Here is a link to a STi in Crystal Grey Metallic: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=564216

The sport package is a great deal because it include the following:
6 disc in dash cd player
sport bucket seats (WRX / STi seats)
sport gauge cluster (wrx cluster)
body colored sideview mirrors and ground effects
aluminum pedals
STi fog light covers
Momo three spoke leather wrapped steering wheel
leather wrapped brake lever
6 speaker upgrade

I had considered getting my former Subaru 2.5GT in silver, but it didn't seem to have enough "pop". I wound up going with white instead. The new crystal grey color seems to have a more classy look than the old silver. I like it! :D

Thanks! I like the color a lot! It will hide dirt more than this black Civic (not that it will stay dirty long) We looked at silver but I see too may of those on the road and on the Subaru sites so I went with a color you don't see too much of and like you said, it sort of looked classy to me as well. :D The Aspen White was my next choice.

Subarus can certainly go in the snow, but don't forget to allow for extra braking distance in bad weather. AWD doesn't help with stopping.

Wait until you see how many people in 2 wheel drive cars try to keep up with you in bad weather. I've had many people skid out behind me around curves. Keep an eye on your rearview mirror. You'll see what I mean.

Everyone was staying in the left lane today on the way too work because the right lane was not plowed so great yet. They were all doing 15-20 in a 35 and I was with them until I remembered I had AWD now and I passed all of them. LOL I did fish tail turning the corner into work but the tire grabbed right away. That will take some getting used too. I sort of over corrected that turn but with AWD I did not need to.

Sounds like you are having fun Bob! If everything goes right when we move I think I want my work "truck" to be an RX-8...My wife has been watching those for 2 years before they were released for '04.

Now I just have to convince her *I* need it for work

I was going to take your picture of your new car and color black (really shinny black) and repost. I thought you might want a reminder of how nice black looks :P :P Then I decided against it, didn't know if you would get mad :?:
