I have the gilmour with the brass fittings.
I have used it a few times, more for prewashing so far. It is fun to use.
I hope to have time to try some different procedures going forward.
Works nicely.

Ok fellas,
I can get these foam guns cheaper than what I see them selling for on other sites. However, they come standard with a 2 oz. per gallon draw rate. OR I can get one with multiple draw rates. Also, would you want 1/2 gallon or quarter gallon resivoir?

Thanks!

p.s. If you want to look at them here they are and you can take the poll now too:

There is also a link on the top left of the page to see the FoamMaster 2.

Looks like the 75QGFMR is the leader! I am going to try and order these early this week (Monday or Tuesday). The price on these should be $49.99 plus shipping.
Sound good?

Bob-
I just voted for the one I have, not that is better than the others. Personally I would want a smaller bottle if I had the chance (I only fill my bottle 1/2 way and it is plenty for my needs using the "middle" mix hole).
If you do not have a foam gun you may want toi try it before deciding to stock a particular model.

(PS-I love my gun more and more as I use it). I have now gone to a system (with my warm and soft water) where I wash the whole car with 1 mitt, no buckets and constantly flood the surface with foam, then just rinse once at the end. The mitt stays clean and I can go around the car in 10 minutes. By only rinsing once it leaves some soap residue but a QD like S&G (which I would use anyway) cleans it right up.

Thanks Steve! That model is actually the smallest size bottle. It is either a quart of half gallon size.

I am still waiting on these guys. The order went through but the person I was dealing with is not in town this week so I am trying to get a hold of another person to see when they shipped. I would imagine I should see them today ot early this week.

Ok, I am sorry to be a Johnny come lately, but I have not seen or heard of using a foam gun. What about heavily soiled or oily surfaces? Wouldn't you still have to rinse before foaming? And, is it practical for commercial detailing work? Do you save water, use less car wash soap? Give me benefits, I want benefits! ;-)

The benefits of a foam gun is that they help reduce the chance of marring during washing. Foam lifts dirt away from the surface of the vehicle. Basically you use the foam gun as a sort of pre-wash.

Bump I am wondering the same thing. Can the dilution ratio be fixed to use with ONR?

What do you mean by fixed? The ratio on the foam guns I carry have 5 different settings.

Nevermind if I would read the description with it then I would have my answer to the mixing ratios. :? However do you see an advantage to using the foam gun? Do ya just have one bucket of rinse water for the mitt or schmitt and just spray a panel with the foam then go over that with the mitt?

Seems everyone does it a little different. I just start by foaming the entire car first and then put the foam gun away. Others foam and wash each panel individually. I do see an advantage if the surface is fairly dirty or you have paint that is easily marred.
