Product Name: Sprayway Glass Cleaner

Product Container: Metal Aerosol Can

Product Labeling: Plain, but adequate.

Product Characteristics: Foamy, stuck to glass. Strong smell I can't quite place, but I'll recognize it always now! Kinda institutional smelling.

Product Performance: Didn't quite work as I expected! Your results may vary.

Product Price: $6.75 for four 19oz cans.

Product Safety: I don't think there is anything in this product that isn't in any other aerosol cleaner. Like Bob says, I wouldn't eat it or spray it in my eyes.

I bought the four pack at Sam's Club the other day. I don't usually go for aerosol products, but I thought what the heck, it's cheap! I sprayed this on a relatively clean side window and wiped off with a clean MF towel. I really don't know what happened, but this stuff smeared terribly! I buffed the crap out of this and even used a second clean MF, and still couldn't get rid of the smearing. I got my normal cleaner (IG) and couldn't remove the smearing with it either! Now I have been known to use different stuff on my windows, like S&W, S&G, QuikShine, even Z-2 and Z-6 and I've never had any issue with smearing. I can't help but wonder if the Sprayway "dissolved" something that was already on the window. It got too dark to see, so it's still on there today. I'm assuming I will need to use some vinegar or even IPA to remove the smears. Based upon my experience, I will probably either give it to my wife or give the product away, but I can't see myself using it on my vehicle again. I also had to go back and QD the side panel beneath this window to remove the droplets that ended up on the paint.

Any questions or comments, fire away!

Thanks for reading!

wow, I LOVE sprayaway glass cleaner! some of the best stuff I have used! I only get smearing if it is really cold outside but then a second MF towel (only for glass) takes the streaks away. If it is above 45ish I have never had a streaking problem.

If you have nothing better to do, maybe try re-doing the window over and over with the Sprayway. As you mentioned, maybe it was cleaning off some QD residue or something. But then again, if you have something that you like and works easily for you, why make yourself work at getting something else to work, right?
I've had pretty good luck with it in my (limited) experience with it.
(I also like the retro "model" design/theme! :) )
I think the scent might be described as "institutional mint?"

Institutional Mint! Now that's hilarious!!

I've read some positive comments about the Sprayway product which prompted me to buy it in the first place. I would certainly never attempt to tell anyone not to use it.

If it wouldn't cost more to ship than I paid for it, I'd gladly send it your way! :D

Who makes this? Is the company called "Sprayway"?
EDIT: Nevermind, I found them.

They make a glass cleaner and a windshield cleaner...are you guys all using the same product?

From what I've read, they are the same thing. They also have 2 styles of aerosol glass cleaner that are the same "type" of label and are the same product. One is the white and blue can with the 50's housewife and the other is a blue can with a window that shows a rainforest or waterfall through it.
They do have an ammoniated glass cleaner that is different, but that's listed as "Glass Cleaner with Ammonia," IIRC.

Can you say it has better cleaning abilities compared to the Stoner's IG ?
