Got a call Thursday from my Buddies Son. His black Jeep Liberty got Egged the night before.
He managed to get it cleaned off within a couple hours, but it had cracked the clear coat in three places on the drivers side passenger door.
So he came by and I took a look at it last night.
I'm thinking the paint is probably toast at this point, but I'll give it a go. I like a challenge and this could add to my experience in Detailing.
Busted out the Meguiars Clay, then Scratch -X by hand , then MPPC with a Meguiars Polish pad, then moved up to SSR2.5 with the same type of pad.
None of those attempts even came close to doing anything...
I thought I could at least knock it down 50%. wrong I was.
In all fairness, you had to really look at the spot where they were to see them, so I told him you may be able to hide them with certain wax's.
He may run this by his insurance agent to see what they'll cover to have it repainted.
This is the first time I've scene this type of damage. I was surprised to see the Eggs do that kind of damage.
When I was younger, egging houses was about all you heard about, not Cars.. That just wasn't done.
Any ideas on a good hiding glaze or wax guys ?
Have a great weekend.
