Tried my schmitt today and it is great. Didn't see and micro marring on the finish and it is black paint. Was getting dark so I will check closer tomorrow in sunlight. Fit tight on my hand and didn't slip. I used that white side for a majority of the surface and used the yellow on my plastic and lower portions of the paint that get real dirty. The mitts surface realease any dirt or grime quickly with a blast of water or rubbing it in the rinsing bucket.
Thanks for the review of the ShMitt. I am glad you are happy with it.

I was going to purchase the black tire/wheel ShMitt, but after reading a posting in another forum where the poster warned that the black ShMitt might be too coarse for painted wheels, I am now inclined to purchase the white/yellow ShMitt and use the yellow side for the tires and wheels. Any thoughts?

I don't think the black one is too coarse. It may seem like it is when it is dry but it seems pretty soft when wet. I like it much better than brushes but I still use a brush on the tire portion and in the wells. The yellow/white schmitt should work just fine too it may tear a little easier.

I bought both of them :) . I use the white/yellow one for the rims and then I use the black one for the tires.

I greatly appreciate the information and guidance. Irrespective of whichever ShMitt I purchase, I'll probably continue to use a brush on the tires and on the wheel wells. I keep the wells pretty clean and dress them after every wash with Armor All.

I've got a ShMitt and I'm not sure what to say about it. I used it for a couple months at the end of the season last year and I found that it left a little to be desired. The panels that I used it on didn't always get cleaned very well and I would have to go over them again. I'm not sure what the reason was for it, but it was just an observation. I like the concept, but I think I'll stick with my normal mitts for now.
The ShMitt still has some work to be done before it becomes the ultimate washing tool I think. I'd love to see it on some sort of an extender rod with a pivoting end or something. It really holds the water in it and it would make cleaning the top of large SUVs a lot easier. I'm going to be doing a lot of RVs this year and I can see it being really helpful in that job too.
Can you believe me if I tell you, guys, that my Schmitt still virgin? I haven't had an opportunity to use it yet. It's really soft, that's for sure, but, I've heard and read that it'll scratch the pain if used with ONR, but only one proven with pics, and I think something went banana's there... I am looking to buy the wheel one on my next order, since I know it'll do a nice job for me!

I too found that it left quite a few spots on the car where it didn't clean... I'm not sure if it was because I didn't want to apply too much pressure, the pad is too bulky or just product error... but I did notice that.
I mentioned the idea about the telescoping handle to Aaron a few months ago to use on our RV and he said he is working on it. He told me that once the 4" pads come out this product would soon to follow... but we know how long it's taking for the 4" pads.... so we'll see.

I too have not tried it with a no rinse wash. I have read that it wasn't too effective with that kind of wash. I have a microfiber mitt that I am going to use with that.

I finally did purchase the black tire/wheel, used it several times, and to be honest, found it too cumbersome to squeeze into the inner areas of my BMW rims to provide a thorough cleaning. To its credit, however, it does clean well, absorbs immense amounts of liquid from the wash bucket, and cleans up well with only a spray and rinse from the hose. :?
