When switching to a different sealant, how do you folks prep the paint? Give it a once over with a fine polish/compound, isopropyl wash, use a detergent such as Dawn or just pop it on with no more prep than a good wash? I'm going to use Danase sealant on the wifes car which has about 2-3 mos. worth of Blackfire on it now. I usually go with an iso wash, then a regular wash and dry. Always open to other ideas! Thanks.

It depends for me. If the vehicle could use a little polish then I will go with a light polish on it. If the paint is fine and doesn't need a polish I will usually use P21S Total Body Wash.

Would a paint cleanser work in this case? Let say 4* or P21s painter cleaner.

Absolutely; those would be most effective. Just be careful with the P21s cleanser...it has oils that may cause trouble with sealants.

I usually clay, use a light polish or AIO, or pre-wash with APC and iso spray while drying.

Thanks, guys. I'll just give it an iso wash. Recommend regular wash after or am I just wasting my time?
