So over a week ago I was leaving my mom's place and this tree came out of no where and hit my car. Yea I backed into a tree late at nite and well it wasn't a pretty sight. Take a look at the pics:

So this weekend I decided to see how well my pc skills have become over the year. I had a pretty big challenge. I knew most of the scratches were probably way too deep to take out but I had nothing to lose. I figured it was going to get reapainted anyway. Below are the after pics of me buffing my car. I probably spent a good 45 minutes to an hour on it. I'm pretty happy with my results although I may attack a few more times. I think I may repaint my bumper.

In case you guys want to know what I used. I had a porter cable with an orange lake country pad. I did about 5 to 6 passes with Menzerna Power Gloss mixed with RMG. Cut 70%(Menezera)/30%Red Moose. Then several passes with Menzerna PO106FF and Red Moose cut the same way with a white Lake Country Pad. Let me know what you guys think.

Wow! Looks like you had it repainted already!

Someone backed into me recently in the same spot so I did the same type of repair. Had the crease popped for $80, added touchup paint, wet sanded, then polished. It looks 85% fixed so I just pocketed the $500 insurance money for now. Although I would have rather had the incident not occur :(

WOW! Amazing job. I wouldn't have thought that much would buff out.

Looks great! I have read good stuff about Menzerna polishes. I have wanted to try them but I really havent seen a need since I have Optimum for now.

Thanks all yea I'm pretty happy with the results. Backing into something is bad but my car has been in a slump. Last month I took out my front lip. I'm thinking it's time for me to take the bus. I really need to be more careful. Anyway the Menzerna line is amazing but there is a bit of a learning curve with it. I think the mix of RMG really helps and makes it a lot more user friendly. I was pretty happy that a PC could give me these results. Now if I can be bold and learn how to use a rotary.
