Well I'm on a roll with posting in the new forums :D. I figured I'd share some pictures of my family's motorhome. This is a 2002 Fleetwood Discovery- 38 feet long. Before a vacation (and during) I threw on a coat of wax-- Mothers Synwax. IMO its a great cleaner wax and did exactly what I wanted it to do. Previous to this (from the time new till now) I did Meguiar's Paste Cleaner Wax, Mother's Cleaner Wax, and Synwax before this detail. Since 80% of it is fiberglass I didn't see it necessary for me to use any abrasive poilshes. So onto the pictures.

And the most rewarding part... wheel polishing. I use an electric drill and a Mother's Powerball with Mother's Mag Aluminum polish. I apply the polish directly to the wheel and then work it in... and then remove with an old MF towel. The tires got a coat of Poorboy's Bold n Bright... I couldn't believe how it dried instantly and left no greasy residue on the tires.

Before:

After polishing and BnB:

I recently picked up an adaptor for a rotary and cotton polishing wheels along with Bush Metal Polish which I will try out on the wheels come spring time. I did a quick test with these products and the results will hopefully resemble chrome   After that I'll apply multiple coats of Wheel Sealant so I won't have to polish again that season. Just for good measure here is where the motorhome sleeps during the cold winter:

How long did that take? Do you do the interiors as well?

Have you ever tried Four star 4-40 for RV's?

Holy crap! You're either a ridiculously fast waxer or you have infinite patience. Did you do Synwax the roof? If so, HOW?? LOL

Very cool RV BTW. 8)

The wheels take about 20 minutes a piece. The exterior takes around 4 hours. I have a system where I apply the wax with a LC 7.5" polishing pad on the top half of a panel and then hop off my platform and do the bottom half of the next panel. After I do that I wipe off both panels with a MF and then continue all of the way around. I take care of the outside of the motorhome, my mom takes care of the interior. The roof gets a special rubber roof cleaner that I spray on, scrub with a stiff brush (on a broom handle) and pressure wash off. That isn't included in the 4 hours... washing the roof and the whole rig takes around 1 1/2 hours.

I haven't tried the 4* 4-40 yet... always looking for new products... especially a good one stepper for this.

The 4-40 is an excellent one step and works great on RV's and boats.

I'll have to say a big AMEN to the 4-40 recomendation. That stuff rocks for boats and RVs. I know some detailers down on the gulf coast who love that stuff. I've been using it for RVs and Boats for quite awhile now and it is absolutely amazing. This year I'll be doing a lot more RVs and I'm going to go through that stuff like nothing else. It is very effective for oxidation on gel coats and the crap that gets all over RVs.
