Hi all. I just registered over on autopia, and found this site from reading posts over there.

I'm hopelessly addicted to cars, and have been since I was just a kid. I currently own a few, but none of them are high dollar or show cars. My daily drivers are a '92 Firebird Formula, '95 Firebird Formula, and an '05 Silverado Z71. There's a '69 GTO out in my barn, too.

I was going to drop some money over on autopia for the PC random orbit polisher and some other supplies, but what I've seen of Bob's attitude towards customers makes me want to drop some money here. So, Bob, I'll be sending you a PM with some questions about what products you recommend for my current project...I hope that's ok?

I've never really [/i]detailed[/i] a car before, at least not properly. I have always washed, vacuumed, waxed, and sometimes polished my cars, but it's never been along the lins of what you guys would properly call detailing. I think it might be time for me to hang up the old bottle of Turtle Wax and try to take it to the next level on my '95 Formula, to see what kind of results I can get. :D

See you guys on the board.

Welcome Dave! You are correct in your assessment of Bob, he is a class guy that will be more than willing to help you out I'm sure. I'm confident that after he gets some quality products in your hands with a PC, you will be amazed at how you car will look, I know I was. When I polished my 11 year old daily driver, and then my new swirled up black daily driver, I was thrilled with the results.

Welcome Dave! You are at the right place. Bob is at the top of my list for my detailing needs, wants, and lets give it a try. You will not be disappointed. Oh yeah nice list of cars. What under the hood of the goat? I would love to have an old car as a fixer upper. Gotta save for a boat first.

Thank you, Jose :D

I actually don't like my town or state very much, but I'm kind of stuck here lol.

Welcome to the forum Bull!

Would you mind explaining why you don't like Amherst? :| Amherst College is my #1 choice right now...so I'd like some info on why you don't like it to see if I should reconsider my priorities...

Hey Dan,

As you are aware, Amherst College is a superb school, so don't let my opinion of this town influence you.

I'm a "townie", born and raised in Amherst, only spent one year living elsewhere while earning my M.A. at Brown. Thanks to years of living here, I have had ample opportunity to learn that Amherst is infested with misguided pseudo-intellectuals bent on forging the town into their scary vision of Utopia. It's nuts.

But, the five-college system provides some great opportunities, both academically and socially.

Thanks Bull, I really appreciate the first-hand info even though that's NOT what I wanted to hear. LOL I can't stand pretentious, idealistic, fake "misguided pseudo intellectuals"...I was under the impression that I would be leaving them at the real Ivies (including Brown--how did you like it?). I've heard very mixed things about the town since I applied, but almost all excellent things about the school, and I want a small, close-knit campus. Williams (of course lol) is my other top choice but Williamstown lacks the consortium and civilization. I consider myself fairly grounded and down-to-earth (hell, I wrote my Common App essay on my experience working at a collision repair shop) and I'm politically moderate, maybe a little conservative, so it sucks to hear that the town is made up of Utopian loonies.

Then again, I was deferred and there's a good chance I won't make it in...

Welcome! And your assesment about Bob is dead on. He went out of his way to take care of my first order with him. If he takes that amount of care with every order, he will be soon hiring an accountant to count all of his money. Keep up the good work Bob and welcome again Bull.

Dan, you sound quite a bit like me, then. So, you should not only go to school here, but move here so that we can try to reduce the proponderance of loonies in the town!

I enjoyed Brown and Providence, although I much prefer smaller towns or the countryside to urban areas. As a grad student, I did not become immersed in the "Brown experience" as an undergrad would, but it was a great educational opportunity. Thayer street, right behind the campus, has an awesome Middle Eastern pocket-sandwich place, too. I still go back, occasionally, for lunch.

Lone_Star, that kind of service that you describe is a rarity these days, and to me it is worth supporting.

Dave--If I get in...hehehe...we'll do that. LOL

I went to that Middle Eastern place after visiting Brown. :) Glad to hear you liked it...unfortunately I really don't think I'll get into the undergrad school because my application is mostly supported by SAT and grades.

Oh, and Bob definitely has awesome CS, great selection, good prices--it's ridiculous that not enough people know about Danase'. People are still off at that geeky place getting their orders screwed up and having to go through tiers of the beaurocracy just to get it fixed... :?

Bull--one more thing--would it be a problem to be a Yankee fan in Amherst? LOL
