Hey all, just registered. I don't know how/why I never stumbled upon these forums earlier. I'm on a couple other detailing message boards but am always looking for other quality boards to be on & learn from.

About me - From Brownsburg, IN (about 30 minutes west of downtown Indy), 27 years old, married for almost 4 years, 2 Netherland Dwarf rabbits (1 black, 1 brown), in the process of adopting a rescue lab (black or chocolate), work in IT but in the process of starting my own mobile detailing business on the side, would like to get out of IT and do detailing full-time if at all possible (Indiana weather will be my biggest enemy). That's about all I can think of.

Here's a few pics of our '05 Mazda3 (from last fall):

Welcome to Danase forums! Your over on the Meguiar's forums too right? Sharp looking car. How do you like it. I have been looking at the 3's and 6's. Need something cheaper and better on gas. I am hoping in the next few weeks to get over and test drive them. I have a golden lab, great dog. Nice job on the detail!

Thanks, yes I'm on MOL, AG, & Autopia. I recognize your avatar :)

We love our Mazda3. At the time, for the money I think it was the best "bang for the buck": projector HID's, clear lens LED tails, auto-sensing wipers, Bose 6-disc system, moonroof, heated leather, electroluminescent gauges, electronic brake force distribution, ABS, full power, top quality interior materials (except the carpet), etc. all for just under $20K. It's got a great engine (just enough power to make it fun), and the handling is awesome for the class of car that it's in. It's a 5spd. manual and we average right at 30mpg (I've kept track of every tank since purchase). The worst tank was 26 and I've had it in the high 30's also. Because I got to pick the transmission, my wife got to pick 4 or 5 doors. She opted for the 5-door b/c of the cargo room. I wasn't too keen on the 5-door at first, but I have to say, I'm so glad we got it. It's so convenient to have. It has double the cargo space as my GA so anytime we need to pack a lot of stuff in a vehicle, it's always the Mazda. All in all, I can't say enough about it. I've driven a few 6's and they are nice but I definitely prefer the 3.

We're really looking forward to getting a lab. I've heard nothing but good about that breed.

Thanks for the compliment on the detail. If you have anymore questions on the Mazdas, let me know! Good luck with it!

Welcome...this is a great forum!

While the post count is a bit lower than some, it's because we don't have anyone doing the pseudo-advertising or product hawking that you'll see on others.

I'm in Fort Fun...our weather does put a cramp on the detailing work, but it can be done. I did it for many years as a professional and still do some side jobs when time around the job and remodeling allows.

Hey Pete, thanks!

It's always good to see another "Hoosier" on boards that I join! I actually grew up in Rensselaer (NW corner of IN) before moving down here. It makes me feel better that you used to detail professionally in this great IN weather.

As I stated originally, I'm in the process of starting my own business. If you have any tips for me in any aspect, I'm all ears. Plus, I wouldn't mind hearing more about your business.

:D
