This is the product in question Four Star Medium Cut Compound (http://danase.com/fostmecutco.html) I got a sample from a danaseforums.com member in exchange for some PB's products. It smells like chemicals, not a nice smell. I applied it to my wife's Civic after an ONR wash and claying while washing. I started from the roof down using an Edge yellow pad with the PC at speed 6. I have to admit that it dust somewhat, but not as bad as SSR2.5 It has an excellent work time in the sun and it does a nice job cutting some serious swirls. It leaves some haze as expected, but nothing that a fine polish can't take out. After compounding, it leaves a nice smooth finish, which will be enhanced after the final polish.

Now, would I buy it? Yes! The link above has all the info necessary in order to clarify what exactly it does. I think is a great product, with excellent workability and nice cutting. Very safe and clear. Downside, as with all compounds, it dusts. Nothing huge. Hope this helps to add another product to your collection, since I already got it :D

Thanks for the review review! Have you used Optimum compound, and if so can you compare the two?

Yes, Actually, I just recieved a botle of OC a little over 2 weeks ago. The OC and the 4* compare around the same in cutting power. Couldn't tell a difference. This 4* is in my book since I work outside, and the workability is great.

I got a sample of the medium cutting compound and it works well. You can really feel the abrasives in the compound. I kind of like that for some reason. Maybe b/c I know something is in it. :? I can't really feel the abrasives in Optimum Compound. I have heard that is because of the lubricating oils in Optimum.

I do tend as well to take a bit and feel it with my fingers. SSR2.5 AND this MCC have some stuff in them, which makes me give them a thumbs up, but I'm getting rid of my SSR's.
