OKLAHOMA CITY — A wash employee got a large, slithering surprise during a detail service here, 9news.com reported.

The May 14 story stated that the employee moved the seat back to clean the trash on the floor, and he felt something strange under the seat. He felt a snake.

“When he touched that snake he ran across the lot,” Super Clean Car Wash Owner Daniel Smelser said in the story. “It scared him good.”

When an employee grabbed the snake’s head with pliers, it wrapped around the seat leg and would not let go. It took several people to finally remove the snake.

The car’s owner had no idea the snake was under the seat, and he had driven 80 miles that morning with the reptile in the car.

Mark Howery, a wildlife diversity biologist, said in the story that it is not uncommon for rat snakes to eat a big meal then curl up in a quiet place. “Almost all of the odd snake stories I’ve heard have involved rat snakes because they are good climbers,” he said.

Last weeks detail was a modified Golf MK6 GTI, which enter swell detail store, for lots of different tasks.

Before assesing the paintwork, interior had some issues. A deep scratch on drivers seat, had to be repaired and treat the rest of the leather interior.

Rest of the treatment was performed by the Zaino twins . Z-9 and Z-10
Mf towel after drivers seat.







Plastic interior was treated with CG Inner clean, and glasses cleaned with Auto Finesse Crystal






Golfs white paint, had lots of deep scratches, despite it's hardness.


Starting with claying and paint depth readings.
Lacking a parking space , paint was badly contaminated.


Next was compounding and polishing stage. Trying various combos of polishes and pads, it turned out that only Menzerna Fast Gloss 500 with wool pad could correct the defects. Next step was polishing/refining with Menzerna Power Finish 2500 .

Exterior trim was dressed with Auto Finesse Revive.







Last thing of the detail was sealing the paint.
One layer of superb Wet Glaze 2.0 , and a layer of Auto Finesse Spirit followed.
Next morning same combo followed to add depth and shine to the finish.
So here is the white little beast completed.










































Ending the detail, it's little brother came in for it's regular protection detail.
ZAIO for starters as a base and 3 layers of ZFX'ed z2 and a final wipedown with Z-8.

I just picked one up but didn't get a chance to use it. I was killing some time at Menards the other day waiting to meet a friend for dinner and saw them. They are super flexible. The packaging says they don't kink. I checked out the reviews on Amazon and they get great reviews. A few days ago a WRC legend car crossed Swell Detail Store's doors... A Lancia Delta Integrale Evolution 2 Giallo Ginestra, 1993 model. It is a limited edition since 220 were built. It is track day oriented and it delivers over 350bhp.



Due to a forthcoming big track day @ Serres Circuit (TheItalianJob Trackday), i was asked to fresh it up a little and make it look worthy of its legendary reputation. Despite it's age, it was well preserved but there was room for improvement.





Firstly, i started removing the contaminations and some stubborn tar spots. Thanks to Tardis, this task was over in a couple of minutes.












Next was the claying and the necessary paint readings:









After i was done, i moved on to correction using my trusty rotary polisher and Menzerna PF2500. Here are some 50/50 shots :

Then Britemax Metal Twins came into play and did their magic transforming the grungy exhaust and the mask











As soon as the correction was over and just before the refinement, it was time for some track day stickers, which were handled by Petros, a viny sticker master.











2 days had already passed and after jewelling was over it was time for Wet Glaze2.0 to boost paint wetness. Afterwards, 3 layers of Zaino Z2 ZFX'ed were applied for protection and insane shine and gloss. Finally a wipe of Zaino Z8 Grand Finale concluded the protection giving the Itallian beauty a worthy look.



















Rims were sealed with Zaino Clear Seal, windows were cleaned with Nanolex Glass Polish and sealed with Nanolex Ultra Glass Sealant. At trims Dodo Juice Fantastic Plastic was applied and at tyres Zaino Z16 .

Few days ago, a red Mini Cooper, passed Swell Detail Store's, gate.

MINI's new owner, decided to do a detail, to freshen up the painwork, and make it like new again, so a correction detail, was offered, and ofcourse the necessery protection







Starting up with some small details, and some parts removal, in order to make the correction easier, and reach some tight spots.

I was very satisfied with the DRC 1000 yellow pad, in combination with IP2000

Trims were dressed with Autofinesse Revive, Tyres with Zaino Z-16.

Glasses were cleaned thoroughly and sealed with Nanolex Ultra Glass sealant.
Wheels were sealed with Nanolex Premium Selant .

Beading on the wheels the following day:






After jewelling with M205, one layer of Wet Glaze 2.0 was applied to the smooth MINI"S paint work, to make it even wetter.
One layer of Britemax Vantage, followed to protect the surface.
Next morning, the same combination was applied once again.
