Default Decal removal

Has anyone tried to remove rocker panel molding stickers? They are those stainless or chrome looking stripes that are insanely thick and sticky. I have been able to remove lots of decals, trim, pin stripe, etc without issues but these are proving to be the real deal.

They are so sticky that by the time I heat them up enough to be peeled off the paint is to hot for comfort and I don't want it to start bubbling. I was able to get half of one side off but that's all she gave me.

I might end up hitting it with the DA and 3000 grit paper to start but before I do it doesn't hurt to see if anyone has done this and the process used.

That works for the little residue left behind from what did come off but not the decal itself. I haven't seen decals like these before and I've removed decals off old service vans that were a P.I.T.A.
